A RANT by Scottish DJ Calvin Harris has gone viral after the star intervened in a plagiarism row over his latest single.
Blessings, featuring Clementine Douglas, was released on May 9 and faced criticism from fellow DJ Chicane who took to social media to claim that Harris had "copied" his own song, Offshore, released in 1991.
Chicane, real name Nicholas Bracegirdle, posted a video on TikTok showing how a riff in Offshore cut and looped allegedly sounded the same as Blessings.
In the video he says: "I'm Nick Chicane and welcome to the video that I thought I would never have to make.
"This is my right to reply to all the comments online about the new Calvin Harris single Blessings' similarity to my 30-year old Offshore.
"I am defending my copyright and intellectual property here guys - I'd like to know what your comments are here guys."
Harris then posted an eight-minute-long video in response to the claims, which he captioned: "Response to the people calling me a plagiarist over the last couple of days after that guys video, all the best."

The video showed him playing the two singles alongside each other to see which parts sounded the same.
He can be heard laughing and calling Bracegirdle a "stupid b****rd".
"It's not the same as you hearing that on the radio and thinking 'ah, that reminds me of that Offshore tune' - you've not heard Offshore in about f***ing 20 years and you know it.
"I'll keep playing it until you f***ing realise," he added.
"This guy's gone, 'this guy's a thief, plain and simple, this guy's ripped off my intellectual property'.
"One, you didn't invent the guitar. Two, it's not the same, it's not the f***ing same."
Another DJ, Sam Sax, remixed Harris's rant into its own song, which has since gone viral on social media.
Hundreds of videos have used the sound, gaining tens of thousands of likes.

Sharing the audio, one TikTok user said: "Two djs arguing over who stole whos idea for their summer hit is the funniest thing to happen this year".
Another said: "A Calvin Harris rant becoming Scotland's song of the summer was not on my 2025 bingo card".
Harris responded to the remix: "Hhahahahah".
