'You couldn't make this up!' Chris Sutton trolls Rangers' SFA demand over referee

Chris Sutton has launched a social media attack on Rangers over reports they will look for answers from the SFA over Alfredo Morelos' disallowed goal in today's defeat by Celtic.

Ange Postecoglou's side came out on top 3-2 after an eventful game with several controversial moments, not least the Colombian's finish after a tangle with full-back Alistair Johnston.

The Ibrox side will write to the SFA to find out exactly why the goal was chalked off despite VAR official Nick Walsh getting multiple looks.

But Celtic legend Sutton was quick to ridicule the idea, taking to Twitter to say: "You couldn't make this up.

"The SFA will write back: "Dear Rangers, it's because it was a foul by big Alf..."

Rangers manager Michael Beale said after the game he felt the officials had made the wrong decision.

He said: I'm disappointed in one or two decisions from the officials. The VAR officials. Not Kevin on the pitch because I think if you look at the goal that’s disallowed for Alfredo Morelos.

"You look at the number on the back of his shirt, why is their guy not trying to play the ball? Only Alfredo's trying to play the ball, they both got a hold of each other, but Alfredo's numbers twisted around his back. I think it's a goal. I think it's a soft one."
