Hotels.com is giving Brits the chance to order room service right to their home and live their best jungle lives, with the launch of the ‘Bugs Fizz Bushtucker Breakfast’.
If you have a strong stomach and dare to try the bug filled brunch, Hotels.com will reward you with a £100 gift card, so you can stay in your very own castle post-lockdown.
With the final taking place this Friday, what better time to create your own trial at home, with some winning room service ‘grub’, complete with a side of cricket granola (and no, there won’t be jammy dodgers involved).
The ‘Bugs Fizz Bushtucker Breakfast’ contains some delicious granola, sparkling Nosecco and a nutritious smoothie…however that’s not all that will be in there with you. There are croissants encrusted with worms, a smoothie served with crickets, bucks fizz finished with a grasshopper garnish and granola covered with crickets…delicious right? To get through it, just think about that ‘happy place’ you can go to with your £100 gift card when it’s time to travel again next year.
Emma Tagg, spokesperson for the Hotels.com brand said: “With Brits not travelling right now, we know they are missing all the best bits of a hotel stay, so, we are bringing a taste of the hotel life to them instead, with our new creepy-crawly room service. We’ll give them their own trial with the ‘Bugs Fizz Bushtucker Breakfast’ but this isn’t one for the faint hearted! If they can survive the bug filled food, we will reward them with a Hotels.com gift card, to live their best castle life when travel returns!’
To be in with a chance of winning one of the limited edition breakfast hampers, Brits just have to free text 62277 before 16:00 on Friday 4th December with the word ROOMSERVICE.

- Gritty Granola: A bowl of fruity granola, sprinkle some crickets on top to add that extra crunch
- Bugs Fizz: Hop into the final and raise a toast to the celebs. Mix some Nosecco with OJ and finish off with a classic grasshopper garnish
- Jungle Juice: Try something new by adding some cricket protein powder to your morning smoothie, to really bring out the taste of…well, bug
- Creepy-crawly croiss-ants: professionally baked and garnished with the finest mealworms to bring your meal to life
A handful of lucky winners will be selected at random to receive their Bugfast in Bed. Only the winners will be contacted, they will receive a text and will be asked to send over their address to a specified email.
The competition will be live to all residents across England, Wales and Scotland until 4pm (16.00pm) on Friday 4 th December. Food may contain nuts.
