While most know actor Ewan McGregor from Star Wars, along with 900 other awesome movies, my favorite on-screen example from the Scot's resume is by far the Long Way Round series. Comprised of a handful of documentary series detailing him and his best mate Charley Boorman's travels around the world, McGregor is to the motorcycling world as much as he is to those living in a galaxy far, far away.
And if you ever get a chance to talk to the actor, which RideApart did a few months back, he's exactly the type of motorcyclist you'd want him to be. Jovial, absolutely unafraid to give you shit, and like you've known him for ages. If I still drank, I'd have a beer with him in an instant.
But that, unfortunately, isn't likely in the cards any time soon. The next best thing, then, would be to own one of the actor's old motorcycles. And wouldn't you know, that's exactly what you can do right now, as not just one, but two of McGregor's old bikes are coming up for sale, with you getting the chance to own them both. I wonder if Utah would let me have an OBIWAN moto plate?

The two motorcycles in question are a 2022 BMW K1600GT and a 2021 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Revival, which are honestly a pretty interesting pairing. Both are big and plush cruisers in their own right, but motorcycles with very different ethos' in that aim.
Being sold by Iconic Motorbike Auctions, they're both incredibly low-mileage machines, with the auctioneer remarking that McGregor is looking to excise a few motorcycles to "clear some space," by selling the bikes and a few cars, too. Both motorcycles are housed in Panorama City, California, so for folks in the United States, shipping won't be all that hard.
According to the listings, the BMW shows just 617 miles on the odometer, while the Harley-Davidson a few more with 1,550. That's barely broken in for either, and likely speaks to just how many motorcycles McGregor has in his vast collection that spans two continents. In the most recent series, Ewan showed off a bunch of bikes he stores here in the States, along with all those he keeps at his place in Scotland. Suffice it to say, he was probably right to give me hell when I told him I was between motorcycles at the moment.
The two listings still have some time left in the auctions, with the BMW currently ending later today, and the Harley ending in a few days. But don't dawdle too much or you'll miss your chance to fulfill your six degrees of separation to Ewan McGregor. At least until he decides to sell another bike.
