You could be paid £25K to be company's first ‘Pet Park Ranger' and look after all the office animals

Attention animal lovers, this could very well be your dream role; the chance to look after adorable pets all day every day- and you could get paid up to £25,000 for your troubles.

The vacancy is a brand new role as a ‘Pet and People Park Ranger’ at premium raw pet food company Bella & Duke ’s brand new headquarters, which they’re hoping will be the UK’s most pet friendly office.

Duties for the full-time position include ensuring a safe and cosy space for the office and visiting pets, making sure all the animal’s needs are met, as well as organising fun activities such as agility courses and providing other stimulus to help pets blow off steam.

The successful candidate would also work closely with the company’s in-house expert behaviourist, Caroline Spencer, to ensure pets are at their happiest when in the office, with an opportunity to expand their knowledge of dog body language and behaviour from an expert.

The best news is that pet-specific qualifications are not necessarily required to apply for the role, but with over 60 pets between the 130 people team, a number which can only be expected to climb, it certainly anticipates being a full-on role.

Mark Scott, CEO of Bella & Duke, said: “With more people now bringing their pets to the office, it’s not just employee welfare that has to be provided for. It’s important we consider the services, benefits and facilities offered to employees as well as their companions.

“We hear of companies talking about being pet friendly, but with pet welfare being at the core of what our company does, we wanted to take it one step further and dedicate a specific job role to ensure we go above and beyond for pets in the office.”

The new office aims to offer a safe space for employees to bring their pets to work, with the venue scattered throughout with kennels and catteries, as well as dedicated areas for animals to stretch their legs and play.

Bella & Duke hope to be able to take the mantle of ‘most pet friendly workplace in the UK’ by offering employees the chance to bring their pets to the office, to allow staff more flexibility while working.

Candidates should identify themselves as a driven and passionate person, described on the job specification as ‘the life and soul of the party and thrive on creating a fun and happy environment’.

If you’re interested in the position you’ll have to be quick; the deadline for applications close on December 20, and the role can be applied for here.

Mark added: “We’re excited to see the applications and look forward to offering this dream position to someone who’s as potty about pets as we are.”

While workers are being advised to work from home amid the ongoing pandemic, the company are hopeful of fulfilling the position in the new year in time for return to offices.
