You can watch The Muppet Christmas Carol on a Victorian street in Salford

A festive family screening of The Muppet Christmas Carol is coming to a Victorian street in Salford.

Lark Hill Place sits inside Salford Museum and Art Gallery and is an atmospheric re-creation of a typical northern street during Victorian times.

Organisers say the venue is 'the perfect setting' for the 1992 Christmas classic, which sees Kermit, Gonzo and Michael Cain take on Charles Dickens’ traditional story, giving it the Muppet treatment.

Families are urged to wrap up warm with coats and blankets, and 'bring plenty of winter cheer' to keep warm at what's being billed as 'a truly unique Christmas experience'.

Tickets for the event - which takes place on Sunday, December 8 - cost £10 for adults, £8 for children, or £30 for a family and include a drink and a snack.

Arrival is 5pm ahead of the showing at 5.30pm and tickets can be booked online .

Lark Hill Place was originally created in 1957 when many shops and houses in central Salford were being demolished to make way for new developments.

It is set at the turn of the last century, although many of the items are older to show development over time.

The ambience is set at teatime on a winter’s evening when the street gas lamps have just been lit.

Visitors can take a peek inside the many shops and houses, including a toy shop, chemist, grocers, a blacksmiths and an artisan’s cottage.
