You can watch Champions League final for free - but NOT on Freeview TV

BT Sport is not showing the Champions League Final on Freeview - but there are ways to legally watch the huge match for free.

Liverpool take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League Final in Madrid at 8pm on Saturday evening. The Reds will be looking to claim their sixth European Cup, while North London side Spurs are competing in their first European Cup or Champions League Final.

BT Sport has the UK TV broadcast rights for both the Champions League and Wednesday's Europa League final in which Chelsea won on penalties against Arsenal.

BT Sport has previously aired Champions League finals on a Freeview channel, which allowed non-subscribers to watch the game on TV. But - like with last year's Champions League Final - BT Sport is not showing this week's tie on Freeview.

However, there are ways to watch the game for free, even if you are not a BT Sport customer.

Online - apps, BT Sport's website and YouTube

Fans who are not BT Sport subscribers can still watch both the Champions League Final for free, via the BT Sport app on mobiles, tablets, smart TVs, games consoles, or online through BT Sport.com and BT Sport's YouTube channel.

*The BT Sport app will show the final for free on the following large-screen platforms/devices and games consoles: Samsung Smart TVs (2015 onwards), Apple TV 4K, Chromecast Ultra and Xbox One (X and S).

If you are a BT TV or Sky TV customer

You will have to pay from £10 a month to have BT Sport added to your BT TV package. Sky TV is offering three months free, as part of a 12 month contract, which then costs from £16 a month.

YouTube on your TV

If you don’t like the idea of following the finals on a computer screen or phone, you could try watching it through YouTube on your TV. You’ll need a smart TV or a connected device such as a games console or Amazon Fire Stick to do this, with the YouTube app downloaded to it. Or, you could connect your laptop or tablet to your TV. Head to BT Sport's YouTube Channel to watch the match.

Virgin Media

If you are a Virgin Media customer, you will be able to watch the final for free, on HD channel 101 or 4k UHD on channel 532

If you are an existing BT Sport Customer you can also watch the match through your TV's set-top box
