You can try yoga with cats at Edinburgh cafe Maison De Moggy next week - and why wouldn't you?

Award-winning Edinburgh cat cafe Maison De Moggy have come up with a very intriguing idea for their latest event - namely, cat yoga.

It does make sense, to be fair. After all, cats are naturally flexible and could teach us a lot about how best to contort into various shapes. However, we can't help but think that the presence of lots of cute cats might distract us from our inverted asanas and forward bends.

It's a clear rival to goat yoga, the worldwide viral trend that got everyone talking back in December last year - where goats perch on your back while you move through your poses.

The cat yoga session will take place on us on Thursday 19 September. It will focus on Yin Yoga -  a series of long-held, passive floor poses that target the connective tissues in the body (which certainly sounds very cat like to us). It will be led by Imran Hashmat Yoga and the good news is that it's suitable for beginners.

The organisers say: "You'll be Yin-ning out in the home of 10 cats who may get more than a little curious during our practice. Afterwards, treat yourself to a warm beverage and order a slice of cake as you socialise with cats, and maybe humans, before heading home ready for a rewarding cat nap.

"WARNING: Maison de Moggy and Imran Hashmat Yoga will not accept responsibility for any damage caused to your equipment due to cats clawing their way onto your mats and hearts!"

The session is £20 and spaces are limited. You'll need to select the date 19/9/2019 and the timeslot 7pm to find the event to make your booking: https://www.maisondemoggy.com/product/book-your-slot/

Don't miss out on this un-fur-gettable experience!
