Andy Halliday has revealed he had a ball confiscated from him during the Viaplay Cup semi-final between Hearts and Rangers.
The Tynecastle midfielder was an unused substitute in the 3-1 defeat at Hampden.
However, he has opened up on a bizarre incident off the pitch where David Dickinson took a ball off him as he was doing keepy-ups during the match.
Halliday - who played for Rangers between 2015 and 2020 - explained that he was doing keepy-ups at the side of the pitch when the fourth official informed him he wasn't allowed.
On Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Halliday said: "I know what happened, I don't know why the reaction was...
"I was just sitting doing some keepy-ups at the side of the pitch.
"I quite fancied a touch of the ball, I've not had one for a couple of months by the way so I thought I would do a bit of ball work, a few keepy-ups.
"Next thing the fourth official grabbed the ball off me and said: 'You can't do that'.
"I thought 'Fair enough' and went and sat down."
Quizzed on whether he was on course for a record, Halliday joked: "I was at 48 and I was four away from the record before he stopped me!"
