You can stay on a renovated yacht in the middle of a Welsh nature reserve

A renovated yacht in the middle of a nature reserve is the perfect getaway - if you don't actually want to go sailing.

The vessel, fondly named Mr Imp in its heyday, sits in a private 22 acre stretch of land in Llandeilo.

Settled in the depths of Carmarthenshire, the reserve is littered with lakes, ponds, wildflower meadows, massive oak trees, and even a whomping willow to rival that in Harry Potter.

The yacht is within walking distance of a local pub and not far from the town of Llandeilo, home to Dinefwr Castle and one of the quirkiest alternative accommodations you could choose to stay in Wales.

It sleeps two pirates or stowaways in a double bed converted from the dining area, as well as a wood burner and a sink.

The blue, green, red and wooden interior has barely been tampered with, other than a few key renovations, and harks back to a time when the 22ft boat sailed the seas. Prices start at £110 per night.

The yacht is run by Wild Dragon Escapes and you can find more information on their Facebook page.

Wild Dragon Escapes is a 22-acre resort featuring a variety of quirky accommodation, from a house in the shape of a giant shoe, to a renovated double decker bus to the Mr Imp yacht.
