You can pick up craft beers for just £1.49 in Aldi from tomorrow as festival kicks off

Aldi are launching their exciting summer Scottish Beer Festival in Edinburgh stores this week that will showcase some of the best brews from around the country.

There will be 35 delicious craft beers for shoppers to choose from, featuring seven of Scotland's best independent breweries - with everything from refreshing ales, to IPAs and tasty stouts.

The festival is now in its eighteenth year and will take place in all 87 Aldi stores in Scotland, kicking off tomorrow (Thursday 4 July).

The deal is worth over £186,000 to the breweries involved but will see bottles starting at a bargain price of just £1.49 - making it the perfect chance to sample some rarer craft tipples.

Brewers will include: Dundee’s 71 Brewing, Inverness’ Cromarty Brewing, Clackmannanshire’s Harviestoun, Aberdeen’s Fierce Beer, Argyll’s Fyne Ales, Glasgow’s Jaw Brew and the Borders’ Tempest Brewing Co.

A number of brews will also be available exclusively from the supermarket, including Jaw Brew and Cromarty Brewing’s entire selection.

Graham Nicolson, Group Buying Director, Aldi Scotland said: “Our Scottish Beer Festival is always a huge hit with our customers, and this summer’s festival is set to be no exception with seven fantastic breweries from different regions of Scotland each showcasing five of their finest craft beers.

“Scotland’s craft beer industry has exploded throughout the last decade and, with over 100 breweries now operating across the country, the variety and quality of beers and ales on offer is greater than ever. We’re very proud of the strong partnerships we’ve built with the breweries involved in this festival and I hope our customers enjoy discovering some new and unique products.”
