Department store John Lewis has confirmed dogs are now allowed into all of their stores.
The nationwide shop lifted the dog ban earlier this year, after a trial pilot in London.
Before now only service dogs were permitted to enter stores.
The news was confirmed in a tweet on Twitter from John Lewis & Partners after excited pet owners praised the store.
It all started after an account for a border terrier called Scrappy Nelson asked if he could visit the store in Milton Keynes.
The dog's tweet jokingly read: "Erm… excuse me @jlandpartners @jlpartnership are all your John Lewis Stores dog friendly?
"I heard a whisper from a pal and we @DuncanPickles would like to visit Milton Keynes for his Birthday on Thursday. Nothing do to with Mum wanting to go."
Bosses responded to Scrappy by confirming that all dogs were welcome "with immediate effect", as long as they are "well behaved" and on a "fixed lead at all times" - unless they are being carried.
Heading up the dog-shopping revolution, little Scrappy has since made headlines, Edinburgh Live reports .
Peter Cross, customer experience director at John Lewis & Partners, said they lifted the ban after they carried out a pilot in London.
He said: "We trialled allowing dogs in our Peter Jones shop last year and it was a big success so we now welcome dogs in all our shops.
"We have had very positive feedback from our customers and all our four legged shoppers so far have been very well behaved!"
