You can now take a virtual tour of Father Ted parochial home for the hit show's 25th anniversary

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Father Ted’s television premiere, Chill Insurance has  launched a virtual tour of the show’s famous living room.

You can also see the room in 360° view with a standard smartphone or computer.

However, people who own a VR headset will be able to get the full experience of standing in Father Ted’s room. They will be able to look around and see a 3D-animated version of the set right before their eyes.

Father Ted first aired on Channel 4 on April 21st, 1995 and ran for three seasons, including a Christmas special.

It has developed a cult following over the last 25 years and still remains popular to this day.

The show was voted No 1 in Channel 4's best ever comedy shows in 2012.

Father Ted's real house can be located in Clare, but it is lived in and privately owned. The living room itself does not exist as the show’s interiors were shot at the now demolished London Studios in Waterloo.

Chill Insurance has also hidden nine items in the living room for eagle-eyed fans to spot. They are challenging users to post the nine items on social media with the hashtag #FatherTed25.

A list of clues can be found on Chill Insurance's  blog post.

Fergal Lynch, marketing manager at Chill Insurance, said: "Father Ted is one of the most beloved sitcoms of all time and celebrates the amazing comedic talent our country has to offer.

"To commemorate its 25th anniversary we are giving the show’s fans a chance to step inside Father Ted’s iconic living room through a unique VR experience.

"Many families might be in need of a change of scene at the moment, and Chill Insurance hopes that our Father Ted virtual tour will bring a smile to their faces."
