You can now take a virtual tour of Edinburgh Castle and other Scottish landmarks from your home

While Edinburgh's most famous and popular attractions are currently closed due to lockdown, a British resorts company have put together virtual tours of sites such as Edinburgh Castle and other stunning landmarks.

Suited both for tourists who have had their trips to the capital cancelled, or locals who are just missing being out and about in the city they love, the aerial tour of the castle provides stunning views of the building itself, as well as over Princes Street Gardens and the Royal Mile.

Parkdean Resorts have also gathered together a virtual boat tour of Loch Ness, providing some beautiful Scottish landscapes as well as a chance to spot Nessie with out making the long journey up there.

Or if you want to escape Scotland altogether, there are multiple sites all over the UK to explore.

Why not learn more about the Roman empire at Hadrian's Wall, glide along the Giants Causeway or have a sneak peek into the famous Abbey Road studios in London.

To explore the full range of virtual tours, you can find the list here.

Or if you're looking for entertainment and ideas to stay productive at home during lockdown, why not visit the Edinburgh Live 'stay-in' page, which is filled with suggestions on how to beat the boredom whilst in isolation.
