The De Vere House in the medieval village of Lavenham, Suffolk, is famous as the inspiration for his home in the series.
The cottage, which featured as Harry’s Potter ’s birthplace Godric’s Hollow in the Deathly Hallows Part One film, was also the same place where Hogwarts headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, was born.
It was also where Harry's parents made their final stand against Lord Voldemort and the place where Harry received his iconic bolt-shaped scar.
The Grade I listed property was sold last year for £950,000 and has since been transformed into an award-winning bed and breakfast.
Lavenham is reputedly Britain's finest medieval village, with over 300 protected heritage properties listed in its boundaries.
The exterior of the De Vere house played a starring role in the Harry Potter films and is located opposite the graveyard where Harry's parents, James and Lily Potter, were laid to rest.
Godric's Hollow is known as a magical village in the Harry Potter universe, with several notable residents including Bowman Wright - inventor of the Golden Snitch - and Bathilda Bagshot, author of A History of Magic.
At the centre of Godric's Hollow village square, there is a war memorial that magically transforms into a monument to the Potter family when approached by witches and wizards unaccompanied by Muggles.
