Searching for information on hi-fi and AV products can be a minefield. But now a new feature lets you customise your Google settings to boost trusted sources so you can get the information you want faster and more reliably.
By prioritising What Hi-Fi? you'll see our results first when you enter a search term into Google. Whether it's news, reviews, Best Buys, opinions or features, you'll know you can trust the information you read as it will have been written by experts and meticulously fact-checked.
What are Google Top Stories?
When you search for a term (say 'Spotify Lossless'), Google creates a carousel of Top Stories around that subject. To feature in Top Stories, articles have to be high quality and recent.
What Hi-Fi? articles regularly feature in Top Stories, but by adding us as a preferred source, you'll guarantee that you'll see our articles ahead of those from other publications.
The feature is currently rolling out only in the US and India. Here's how to use it.
How to add a preferred source
Enter a search term, and you'll see a small star icon next to the Top Stories section. This won't appear for general search terms, only those related to news.
Click the star, and search for What Hi-Fi? in the list of preferred sources. Tick the box next to it, then click Reload results to see the updated Top Stories section.
Now Google will prioritise content from What Hi-Fi? (and any other sites you have set as a preferred source). Though content from other sources will likely still appear.
