You can now get flights to see the Northern Lights from across the UK

Across February and March next year, airports around the UK will fly passengers to see the famed Northern Lights.

The three hour excursion is being run by Omega Breaks . It includes both pre-flight presentations from expert astronomers as well as in-flight commentary, reports the MEN.

An Aurora Borealis is created as a result of the "interaction between magnetic fields of the Earth and the Sun".

Throughout the trip, described as "the easiest and most affordable way to see the natural phenomenon" passengers will also see everything the Milky Way to Orion's Belt.

The Omega Breaks website states that "this is perhaps the most vibrant you will ever see some of the more famous constellations."

The BBC's Pete Lawrence, best known for his role on the long-running show Sky At Night , will be the flights main guest atronomer.

Pete will be joined by either Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society Nigel Bradbury or his Sky At Night colleague Dr Lee Sproats.

Prices range between £229 to £249 per person, while departures from Norwich will also incur an additional £10pp Airport Development Fee.
