And yet here we are, faced with a tub of Vimto candy floss.
Literally whipped sugar, flavoured with the seriously-mixed-up-fruit drink.
The confectionery creation has been spotted in Morrisons, priced at just 80p.
It's a new twist on the popular drink, which was first created right here in Manchester in 1908 and was originally manufactured as a health tonic in cordial form.
It's since expanded to fizzy versions, to chewy sweet, to jelly, to ice lollies, and now to candy floss.
The tub is a comparable size to a pot noodle, though it only weighs 20 grams - a reminder, we're talking about whipped sugar here, it's not weighty.
Morrisons also sells a 'Vimto roller licker', which is essentially Vimto in a mini roll-on deodorant packet.
For the uninitiated, Vimto is a purple drink that blends various fruit, herbs, spices, including grape and blackcurrant.
It can be drunk still or sparkling, hot or cold - and now also dissolved on your tongue in a rush of sugar.
