You can now buy unicorn spread with popping candy

You can now buy a pink unicorn spread with popping candy pieces.

Asda is selling the raspberry-flavoured sweet treat for just £1.50.

The magical spread was first spotting by a shopper in the  Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook.

And social media users have been sent into a frenzy by the product, Birmingham Live say , and racked up thousands of comments, shares and likes.

Asda operates scores of stores across the country.

The retailer is owned by Walmart and its new spread is made from a combination of sugar, oil, cocoa butter, flavouring, colouring, as well as milk and buttermilk powder.

A 15g serving contains 86 calories and 8.1g of sugar - roughly two teaspoons.

One fan wrote: “The popping candy makes it sound good but not sure about raspberry spread?”

Another said: “I have got to try this! I know it’s full of sugar, but I’m guessing a little goes a long way.”

Others weren’t convinced.

One fumed: “Sorry this is just full of sugar. Not a good thing. Really bad for your children. Think of their hearts.”

Asda has 645 stores across the UK.
