India is the world’s largest motorcycle market, and many motorcycle manufacturers have struck gold over there. But just as many, if not even more, have tried and failed. As such, breaking through as a new brand is no small feat. But Oben Electric is doing just that, and doing it with a mindset that blends innovation and accessibility when it comes to electric mobility.
Founded in 2020 in Bengaluru, Oben Electric isn’t your typical EV startup. It’s not just slapping together imported parts and calling it progress. The company has more than 25 patents to its name and designs its own components in-house, including its battery tech. From the start, Oben’s focus has been clear: build durable, heat-resistant electric motorcycles that make sense for Indian roads and riders, without compromising on fun or affordability.
Now, Oben is pushing into a different kind of territory: e-commerce. Its latest bike, the Rorr EZ, is now available on Amazon India—yes, the same platform where you’d buy headphones or a toaster. And that’s kind of the point. Oben is betting on younger, digitally native riders skipping the dealership experience altogether.

The Rorr EZ isn’t a slouch either. It comes in two battery configurations: a 3.4kWh version priced at Rs119,999 (around $1,440) and a 4.4kWh model for Rs129,999 (about $1,560), both after a Rs20,000 discount. Range tops out at about 109 miles, with performance figures that are surprisingly zippy for a commuter: 0 to 25mph in 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 59mph and torque output of 38.4 lb-ft.
Oben’s LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery chemistry is a big deal here. It resists overheating, holds up better under frequent use, and doesn’t degrade as quickly in hot weather. Naturally, this is a serious advantage for Indian riders who deal with punishing summer temps and chaotic traffic.
But the story isn’t just numbers and specs. The Rorr EZ also comes loaded with tech that speaks to today’s urban rider: GPS-based geo-fencing, theft alerts, brake assist, and ride mode aids, all packaged in a clean-looking frame. The Rorr EZ is offered in four eye-catching colors: Surge Cyan, Electro Amber, Lumina Green, and Photon White.

To sweeten the deal, Oben is offering an optional extended warranty plan consisting of 8 years or 50,000 miles, transferable between owners, for just Rs9,999 (roughly $120). That kind of peace of mind is rare in this price bracket, whether or not you’re talking about an EV two-wheeler.
Oben doesn’t want to stop at online sales, either. The company plans to expand to over 150 showrooms in 50+ cities by the end of the fiscal year. Each location will have its own service center, which means digital-first buyers won’t be left out when it’s time for repairs or checkups.
What Oben is doing is a pretty big deal simply because it shows that India’s EV revolution isn’t ultra-cheap scooters or high-performance machines. It’s about designing something practical, something that fits real-life needs, and making it easy to buy.
