You can now buy Elf Monopoly from Amazon and it's perfect for the festive season

Now that the festive season is in full swing, we're embracing all things Christmas-related until the big day arrives.

So, imagine our excitement when we found out that Monopoly has launched a special edition of its board game dedicated to one of our favourite Christmas characters.

That's right! Fans of Elf can now get a Monopoly board game based on the popular festive film - and it's available at Amazon for £54.49. You can also buy it from Argos for £30.

The Elf board game is similar to the original Monopoly only it features themes from the 2003 film, allowing players to visit classic Elf scenes.

Expect characters, locations and quotes from Elf to help you kick start your seasonal celebrations.

Gamers can advance to Santa’s Workshop, the Empire State Building and Central Park Woods - but are warned not to be a "cotton-headed ninny muggins and end up in jail!"

Classic Monopoly figures have also been swapped for Elf-inspired objects. These include maple syrup, Santa's bag, a mailroom coffee mug, a polar bear cub, Santa's sleigh and a Jack-in-the-box.

The Elf Monopoly board game was originally shared to Facebook group Money Saver Online, much to the excitement of fans of the festive film.

One person said: “Son of a Nutcracker! Please can you buy me this if you see it?”

Another wrote: “Buy it and we won’t wait until Christmas to play it.”

Meanwhile, an Amazon shopper left a five-star review of the festive game, saying: "This looks brilliant and will be a great gift for my Elf fan Daughter, I haven’t been able to take a photo as I’ve not opened it but can confirm it’s the same size as all of the larger monopoly games.

"It also arrived super fast the next day when it said up to 5 so I’m very impressed & happy."

You'll need to be quick if you want to get your hands on the Elf board game, as it's selling really fast on Amazon.

However, Argos is also selling it online for home delivery or click and collect.
