As the season changes, popular restaurants and cafes have brought out their autumn menu.
We've had pumpkin spice lattes from the likes of Starbucks and Greggs and toasted focaccia and warming soups from Pret.
Now Eat has announced they have added a new vegan toastie to the menu, and it will delight cheese fans.
The Mushroom Melt is a "hearty" multi-seed bloomer filled with mushrooms and a vegan smoked Gouda style cheese, as well as caramelised onions and vegan garlic mayonnaise.
Emily Williams from the Eat food team comments: "We’ve created a hearty plant-based toastie, ideal for the colder months.
"Our vegan smoked ‘Gouda’ is made from coconut and potato but has the texture, melting characteristics and complex flavour of regular cheese, we can’t wait for our customers to try it."
It starts from £3.99 and will sit alongside The American Melt (from £4.25) which has smoked ham, Emmental cheese, sliced gherkins and American mustard all in a multi-seed bloomer.
Other favourites, Beef Bourguignon and Chicken Panang Curry Hot Pot, will once again feature on the autumn menu which is out now at UK stores.
Holly Oades, Eat customer director, adds: "We are thrilled to add a delicious and filling vegan toastie to our menus this autumn. We believe our vegan ‘Gouda’ is the best plant-based alternative on the high street, and challenge everyone to try and taste the difference."
Eat will be offering free samples of the new Mushroom Melt and The American Melt across UK stores until September 12, available at lunch times while stocks last.
