You Can Now Build Apps on Zoho Creator Using Prompts

Zoho has expanded its low-code capabilities. The company has unveiled 10 new AI-driven features to its low-code app development platform, Zoho Creator. These features aim to make app creation even faster and simpler for users of all skill levels.

This time, the star of the show is CoCreator. It is an AI assistant built into Zoho Creator that helps users build applications using voice or text prompts, process flows, or business documents. It is backed by Zia, the company’s in-house AI system, and is now available to all Creator users without any added cost.

According to the shared press release, this update aims to reduce app development time and bring smarter automation into the hands of non-technical users. However, it will still offer advanced tools for experienced developers.

Since Creator’s introduction in 2006, the focus has been on simplifying and speeding up the app development process without sacrificing functionality. This enabled our users to launch millions of apps successfully. AI allows us to take it to another level, shortening the time from an idea to an app. Today’s announcement raises the baseline on speed of quality app creation with deep capabilities, without adding costs.

What’s New in Zoho Creator?

Here’s a quick breakdown of the key features now available:

  • Idea-to-App Generation: Users can turn prompts, diagrams, or documents (like software requirement specs) into working apps complete with dashboards, workflows, and permissions. Both Zoho’s own AI and OpenAI’s models are supported.
  • AI-Powered Component Generation: Prompts can now generate forms and suggest fields based on context, helping users improve and expand existing apps.
  • Code Generation and Optimization: Zoho’s AI can automatically write, improve, and annotate code snippets based on app context and needs.
  • Data Cleansing and Modeling: With AI assistance, unstructured data from files and databases can be cleaned, organized, and transformed into app-ready formats.
  • AI Skills (Early Access): This feature lets businesses automate processes using apps that understand natural language and carry out tasks using Zoho’s scripting language and AI models.
  • Custom AI Model Deployment (Coming June 2025): Businesses will be able to train and deploy AI models tailored to their needs, including OCR, predictions, and object detection.

Zoho’s AI Approach

According to the company, its AI tools are privacy-focused. It doesn’t train its models on customer data or retain any of it. It also avoids pushing add-on costs for AI features. Instead, the tools are integrated directly into existing subscriptions.
