You can now apply to be on a dating show where single women trial live-in boyfriends

If you've had enough of dating apps, Channel 4 is on the lookout for contestants for a new dating show called Five Guys a Week.

And it will see five potential suiters moving in with you – all at once.

Channel 4 say the series is "an antidote to traditional dating shows, offering the ultimate test of romance, compatibility and stamina by providing one singleton with five trial live-in boyfriends for a week – all at the same time."

Apparently, "locally-sourced men, all meeting the picker’s exacting standards" will be vying for the affections of one woman.

The broadcaster explains: "The format fast-tracks the ‘getting to know you’ phase of a relationship and gives the dater a unique opportunity to compare and contrast five suitors in real time.

"The men will go everywhere with their host en-masse, whether that’s to work, on a night out with mates, or for dinner with the parents, with a combination of fixed rig and roaming cameras following all the action.

"There is only one rule - the picker must eliminate four of the men by the end of the week, whittling them down to the last man standing."

Casting and pre-production has now started on the series, which enters production this summer.

Five Guys a Week will be the first Label1 show to be executive produced by Barnaby Coughlin, who joined Label1 from Twenty Twenty where he executive produced First Dates and First Dates Hotel.

Mr Coughlin said:  “We’re delighted to be going to series with Five Guys.  It’s a format that speaks to a universal concern – being loved -  that will work in any language, in any country in the world where people long to find their soul mate”.

Applications are open now, visit the casting website to take part.
