You can make 21 lunches with £15 at Aldi - the cost of a school dinner food parcel

For £15 you can buy enough food to make 21 lunches by shopping at Aldi.

Some parents have been outraged at the contents of the £15 free school meals packages arriving during lockdown, saying you can do far better yourself.

In fact, BirminghamLive reports for that money you could easily buy enough food to make 21 lunches, including a dessert and a drink.

That's enough to cover three weeks of midday meals - weekends included.

They pulled it off heading to Aldi and picking up a shopping list of 30 items - even finding the money to buy biscuits, bars fruit and other snacks.

Schools have since been told they have the option to choose between local services or return to the £15 supermarket vouchers used in previous lockdowns.
