You can listen to ghost stories at the world's oldest music hall in Glasgow this Halloween

It's that time of year again, folks. Halloween is nearly upon us and things are starting to go bump in the night.

For the braver among you, there are plenty spooktastic events coming to Glasgow next month...and nothing looks set to be scarer than a night in a haunted building...

The Britannia Panopticon - the world's oldest music hall - is throwing its doors open to Glasgow's gouls and gonlins this Halloween for a night of  haunting tales.

The historic (and we'll be honest, terrifying) looking building will host a night dramatisations, music, and storytelling for all you ghost hunters out there.

All you need is £10 for a ticket, some free time on Saturday, October 26… and nerves of steel.

The event reads: “Hallowe'en approaches and the nights gets darker. Join us at the world's oldest music hall for an evening of haunting tales from around the world.

"There will be dramatisations, music, and storytelling.

"Family Friendly, although be warned it may contain some horror!". Oh god...

If you are still up for the event, here's some background on the spooky history on Panopticon.

It was a bawdy, working class theatre where acts were either greeted with warmth and applause or chucked rivets from the dockyards (dependent on how good they were).

Stan Laurel made his debut there - there’s a plaque informing passers by these days - but in 1938, it closed its doors for the last time.

The theatre was rediscovered in 1997 above an Argyle Street shop floor, and volunteers worked hard to bring it back into use - even if they do have to dodge a ghost here or there.
