You can have Christmas dinner in IKEA this year - how to get tickets

If you feel like Christmas has come early every time you visit IKEA , you're going to love the brand's latest announcement, as it has been revealed that shoppers can enjoy actual IKEA stores this year.

A description on IKEA's website reads: "Sweden celebrates the tradition of Santa Lucia every year on 13th December with a wonderful spread of delicious festive food – and here at IKEA, we’re no different.

"Join us in store for a Christmas buffet and Santa Lucia candlelit procession and get into the spirit of the festivities."

IKEA is hosting a traditional Santa Lucia dinner (IKEA)

Those attending the event will be able to feast on a Swedish buffet of foods such as ham, smoked salmon, potatoes and salads. Also included you'll find gingerbread and mulled wine.

The event is set to take place at IKEA stores across the country - including the stores in Ashton-Under-Lyne and Warrington.

It's thought that tickets will go on sale mid-November, so keep an eye out.

For more information you can check out what's going on at your local store here .

What is Santa Lucia Festival?

The wonderful thing about Christmas is the traditions, and this particular one – known in English as St Lucy’s Day – is Sweden’s biggest festive celebration.

It used to coincide with the longest night of the year, which is why it’s celebrated to this day with candlelit processions. Throw in some traditional songs, mulled wine and delicious saffron buns, and you have a fun, festive feast to keep you warm this December.
