You can have a sleepover at Chester Zoo - here's how to get tickets

As far as camping experiences go, this one is pretty special.

Families will be able to head to Chester Zoo next month for the evening as its Nature Reserve opens its doors for a unique 'sleepover'.

The special event is part of the Cheshire attractions Wildlife Connections Festival - a two-day annual festival celebrating UK wildlife.

The weekend will be full of family-friendly activities from Saturday September 14 to Sunday September 15 2019 but the big camp will take place on the Saturday evening.

Guests will get to explore the zoo's Nature Reserve after dark and enjoy a hot dinner followed by a hot chocolate and storytelling before some stargazing and even a bat walk with Chester Zoo's wildlife experts.

And what's more, when you wake up from your exiting night, campers will get to partake in an early morning tour around the zoo before visiting The Oakfield restaurant for a delicious breakfast.

Annabella Bashforth, assistant team manager of informal education at Chester Zoo, said: "The Wildlife Connections Festival Sleepover will offer a unique opportunity to camp at Chester Zoo and experience the wonderful wildlife of the zoo's Nature Reserve after dark.

"It's sure to be a lot of fun and we're certain it will leave campers feeling far more connected to the incredible species we have living here in the UK."

The 'sleepover' tickets are available now and are priced at £59 for adults and £34 for children.

The free Wildlife Connections Festival takes place at the zoo's Nature Reserve which is just outside the boundary of the main zoo.

The Nature Reserve provides protected habitat for a variety of species of local and national significance, such as kingfishers, hedgehogs and harvest mice.
