You can get paid to travel the world with three mates for one year

If you're craving a holiday with your best mates then you might want to check out Airbnb's latest offering.

The holiday rental company has launched a new Live Anywhere scheme where it will pay for you to live abroad for one year - and you'll get to bring three companions with you.

That could be your friends, family, or even your partner if you fancy a long-term getaway.

As the Mirror reports, those picked for the scheme will get to live anywhere they want in the world, provided they live in Airbnb properties. The company will then cover the cost of the accommodation, and provide an allowance for transportation.

That means you could even apply if you're a remote worker and you're in need of a new work setting whether that's in a new city or on a beachfront.

Starting to sound right up your street? Applications have already opened on airbnb.com/liveanywhere and you'll need to fill out the form by June 30, 2021.

A total of 12 participants will be selected by a panel in July, and each one will be allowed to bring up to three companions with them for the adventure. (You can find out more in the Selection Terms ).

Of course, it's not just a free holiday - you'll be asked by Airbnb to share some feedback throughout the year.

The idea is that those who take part can provide insights into how living nomadically, from the features and services that can be useful, to the ideal types of accommodations for solo travellers/families, and getting involved in the local community.

The program follows a report by Airbnb that found an increase in stays of 28 days or longer at its listings, with 11% of long-term stays in 2021 reporting a nomadic lifestyle.

Around 75 per cent of consumers surveyed across five countries expressed interest in living someplace other than where their employer is based after the pandemic is over.

If the Airbnb program doesn't quite work for you, that doesn't mean you can't dream a little about where you'd move to work remotely in a new country. In fact, we've rounded up some of the countries offering remote worker visas - and that includes some very tempting Caribbean islands too!
