You can get married at the Bombed Out Church and it looks magical

The Bombed Out Church is one of Liverpool’s most iconic buildings, but you might not know you can actually get married there.

St Luke’s church at the bottom of Leece Street, was almost destroyed during the May Blitz in 1941, but its empty shell remains to this day.

After 60 years of neglect, volunteers stepped in to clear the site and breath life back into what was left.

These days, the Bombed Out Church is regularly used for winter grottos, cinema nights and real ale events - and it can also be hired for weddings.

Brides and grooms who choose to get wed there don’t even have to worry about the weather - thanks to a beautiful see-through marquee which can be erected inside the venue.

The transparent structure means the Bombed Out Church will be very much part of your big day, with guests able to see what remains of the building from inside. Brides and grooms can then dress the inside with hanging flowers, and decorations of their choice.

The structure can be hired from Elite Marquees and the wedding party will have exclusive hire of the venue and grounds for their special occasion.

The unique experience will set you back £6,500 (based on midweek packages), which includes the marquee, lighting and furniture fittings, but excludes food and drink.
