You can get free kids' places on flights to Greece for summer holidays

Aegean Airlines has launched a new deal for families with a 'kids go free' offer on all of its flights this summer.

That includes both direct and connecting flights between the UK and Greece, as well as flights operated by Olympic Air.

To qualify for the offer there will need to be at least one adult and one child on the booking.

Eagle-eyed bargain hunters on Hotukdeals first spotted the offer, which will be valid on flights between May 15 through to August 31 - so basically, ideal for those who are tied to the school summer holidays.

That includes both economy and business class tickets - and there are extra perks such as one extra bag per family for free.

However, there is a hiccup. The offer is only valid on new bookings made by May 6.

Which means that if you want to book, we may still not know if Greece will be one of the destinations on the green list for Brits when the UK lifts travel restrictions.

The government has said that holidays abroad will be able to resume, although it has yet to confirm the exact date when non-essential foreign travel can restart.

Of course if you do choose to book the flights before the update, you do so at your own risk. You should also check the airline's amend and cancellation policies in case you are unable to travel.

Currently it's hoped that there will be an update in early May, including a confirmation green list destinations, but it may not come in time for the Aegean Airlines deal.

Greece could be a contender for the green or amber lists. The country has seen a recent rise in the numbers of Covid cases, but it has started rolling out a vaccination programme too.

The Foreign Office has previously advised against travel to parts of Greece, while exempting some Greek Islands from this advice.

Currently Greece is aiming to reopen to foreign tourists from May 14, so it will be on offer to Brits when the UK's travel restrictions lift.
