You can do a deep dive into your family's history for free at this workshop in Edinburgh today

There's going to be a free workshop in Edinburgh today (27 April) at 2.30pm, where you can research your family history and find out more about your ancestors, so if you've ever watched Who Do You Think You Are and pondered the question of your own heritage, this could be for you.

And if you can't make this date, the good news is that there are two further dates available at the National Library of Scotland event: Tuesday, 14 May at 10.30am and Thursday 20 June at 2.30pm.

The workshop advert says:

'Have you discovered the outline of your family history? Do you want to find out more about your ancestors' lives?

"Come to our workshop to find out how to use the Library's huge range of resources."

You don't have to be a member of the library to go along to the event, but you might decide you want to join while you're there - it will make your research a bit easier if you can check books out.

Head on down to the event, and you might find - like Danny Dyer - that you're actually related to ancient kings of Britain. You never know, after all.
