You can celebrate 'LewisCapalDay' with free calamari at Frankie & Benny's in Livingston

Frankie and Benny's in Livingston are serving up free calamari to celebrate LewisCapalDay today (Saturday).

The West Lothian star, who has just released his debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, is being honoured with a whole host of weird and wonderful events.

And restaurant chain Frankie and Benny's have been getting in on the action by offering free portions of calamari to customers at their Livingston eatery.

All people need to do is show their server the instagram post by either Capaldi or the restaurant outlining the deal.

The generous offer comes as the singer-songwriter received his 'calamari for life card' as a nod to his Twitter name 'Lewis Calamari'.

However that's not all that's going on today.

Phillip Smith of New Street Farm in Herefordshire has been among those milking the big celebration.

He revealed a bizarre image of one of his cows which appears to have an image of Capaldi's face on its side.

He said: "I was out for the early morning feed and spotted the unusual markings on Roberta, one of our cows, that looked really familiar.

"My son has been showing me these Instagram Stories from a Scottish bloke that makes music so I called him to the field and there it was - the resemblance is uncanny, if you really squint it looks just like him."

He added: "It’s like when people find images of Jesus on toast, but instead it’s our cow, who we’ve decided to rename Lewis Cow-paldi”

Crowds of people showed up at Andy's Coffee House in Whitburn on Friday to watch the singing sensation sample the now-legendary CapAllDay Breakfast.

The £5 deal, which includes potato smiles which Capaldi once compared to looking like his own face, is expected to be extremely popular throughout the day.
