You can catch classic Geordie TV series Our Friends in the North on Britbox

You can re-watch beloved 1990s TV Series Our Friends in the North on a new streaming service.

Our Friends in the North is now available to stream on Britbox, a new service which puts the best of British TV from the likes of ITV, BBC and Channel 4 in one place. Its series and Box Sets include Downton Abbey, Broadchurch and Only Fools and Horses.

First broadcast in 1996, Our Friends in the North is a drama about the lives of a group of friends from Newcastle, set across 30 years, tracking their shift from youthful optimism to middle aged reality.

James Bond actor Daniel Craig's career was launched by the show, with Craig even pulling off a decent Geordie accent. Real life events are woven into the nine-part series, such as the miners' strike, election battles and dodgy local politics.

Jarrow Born writer Peter Flannery created the series, initially as a stage-play.
