You can buy a 12th century Gower farm that was built by an order of knights

An exceptional Gower farm with a 900-year history and breathtaking views is available to buy, for those with a spare million.

On the market for offers in the region of £999,995, 1.2 acre Sanctuary Farm is in a picturesque rural setting surrounded by fields and woodland near the hamlet of Penrice, near Oxwich.

Within easy distance of the stunning beaches of Oxwich Bay and Three Cliffs Bay, the farm is one of the oldest properties in Gower.

Believed to have been home to the Knights of St John of Jerusalem in the 12th century, the farm is also thought to have housed a nunnery in the 13th Century.

The order of knights thought to have been associated with Sanctuary Farm, also known as the Knights Hospitaller, were a Catholic military order which arose in the early 11th Century to provide care for sick, poor and injured pilgrims in Jerusalem.
