You can book a hidden cottage on National Trust land - and it has a hot tub

With so much talk of the pandemic and Brexit, it's tempting to go off the grid and enjoy some downtime - and one dreamy cottage in Wales could be just the place.

We're talking a remote woodlands location, an outdoor hot tub, cosy interiors and even an outdoor roll top bath for an indulgent soak while taking in the views.

Ty Bach Cottage, located approximately five miles from Hay-on-Wye, is located on 50 acres of National Trust common land leading up to the Begwyns, so it's ideal if you want to spend your days making the most of the Great Outdoors.

Sleeping two people, it can make for a seriously tempting romantic retreat.

The cottage itself offers a 'back to basics' stay, so you really can switch off from the daily grind. We're talking a composting loo, firewood, and rechargeable lamps and torches.

As for an alarm clock? No need - the natural morning light floods the windows so you can wake up to the sunrise instead of a harsh ringing sound.

Still, that's not to say there's no indulgence to be had during your stay.

For a start, the property comes with its own private outdoor wood-fired hot tub, an ideal spot for stargazing, or just relaxing in the day and taking in the direct views of the nearby lake. complimentary toiletries, hot water bottles and a mobile phone charger

Speaking of relaxing, the outdoor roll top bath makes for an unforgettable soak, as you'll get to enjoy the views of the countryside while pampering yourself.

Oh, and the cottage owners also provide a few treats including complimentary toiletries, hot water bottles and a mobile phone charger to make your stay a little easier.

There's a kitchenette with a sink and cooler box (if you need a fridge and freezer, these are housed in the accompanying barn), while in the evenings the living room with its plush sofas and woodburner make for an idyllic cosy night in.

Want to check it out for yourself? Prices start from £431 for three-night breaks in 2021 when booked with Sugar & Loaf -you can find out more here.
