The Miami Heat are still in the mix for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference as they head into Dwyane Wade’s final home regular season game on Tuesday night. But unless they miss the playoffs and somehow luck their way into a top pick, many will begin to wonder about the future of Erik Spoelstra in Miami.
While Spoelstra’s allegiance has been only to the Heat during his NBA coaching career, he would have the type of name recognition and real LeBron experience that Magic Johnson and the Lakers would likely desire if they part ways with Luke Walton, as most expect.
The folks at Bovada currently have a prop on Spoelstra becoming the next Lakers coach, with him highly unlikely to eventually be in purple and gold. He has slightly longer odds than Jason Kidd.
