'You can always tell' - Ian Wright has noticed a change in Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane's Liverpool relationship

Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have developed their relationship on the pitch.

Both players have been on top form for Jurgen Klopp's side this season, with a combined total of 13 goals scored in all competitions between the pair.

There was a time whereby some pundits questioned their understanding and communication on the pitch, suggesting that Mane and Salah opted against passing to each other in their pursuit of individual awards.

One isolated incident which appeared to support this case was during Liverpool's 3-0 win away to Burnley in August 2019, which saw Mane lose his cool over a decision Salah had made.

The Egyptian forward attempted to engineer space to shoot inside the Burnley box, while Mane was unmarked to his left, and ended up losing possession of the ball.

Mane was subbed off shortly after this missed chance and expressed his anger at Salah's decision-making to Jurgen Klopp and his teammates as he left the pitch, despite the Reds leading by three goals at this point in the match.

Salah set up Mane's opening goal for Liverpool in last weekend's 2-2 draw with Manchester City, and Wright is of the view that the prolific duo have a stronger connection compared to the past.

“When I watch them now, you can always tell with the strikers if they celebrate with each other. If they celebrate with each other, then you know that it is fine," he told Premier League Productions.

“And they do, they do celebrate with each other. I think there was a time when Mane came off [Burnley in 2019]. They have obviously sorted that out now.

“Now you see them looking for each other. You do see them looking for each other sometimes.”

Wright was also quick to dismiss the idea that Salah is a selfish player, pointing to his tally of three Premier League assists this campaign as evidence to support his case.

He said: "Mo says he is a winger but then he does show traits of being a striker. There are times where I see that he could have passed, but I say to myself 'I wouldn't have passed that'.

"He's somebody that, when you get in the box, I wouldn't complain about or call selfish because Mo Salah scores and he assists. When he doesn't pass to you, you know he will at some stage."
