'You are truly God's child': Anushka Sharma pens a heartwarming note for Virat Kohli

NEW DELHI: Actor-producer Anushka Sharma expressed her gratitude and admiration for her husband, Virat Kohli, as he created history by scoring his 50th ODI century during the ICC Cricket World Cup semi-final against New Zealand. India's resounding 70-run victory in the match added to the celebration of Kohli's remarkable achievement.

Anushka took to her Instagram stories to share a heartwarming note, praising Kohli's growth and dedication to cricket.

"God is the best scriptwriter! Utterly grateful to him for blessing me with your love, and to watch you grow from strength to strength and achieve all that you have and will, being honest to yourself and to the sport always. You are truly God's child," she wrote.

In another Instagram Story, Anushka congratulated the entire Indian cricket team for their outstanding performance. She wrote, "This. gun. team."

Kohli's world-record 50th ODI hundred, accompanied by Shreyas Iyer's exemplary century, propelled India to a formidable total of 397 for four against New Zealand in the World Cup semifinal.

Anushka also highlighted the outstanding contribution of pacer Mohammed Shami, who was named Player of the Match for his impressive figures of 7 wickets for 57 runs, the best by an Indian bowler in the marquee event. Shami also completed 50 wickets in the tournament from just 17 games.

Anushka and Virat, both 35, tied the knot in 2017 and share a daughter named Vamika, who will turn three in January.
