Is there a celebrity whose interior design style you admire? Celebrity interior design can be a great source of inspiration, but it can also be difficult to determine whose homes you resonate with and what elements you are interested in recreating.

For insight on how to integrate celebrity style into our homes, we spoke with Dayna Isom Johnson, Etsy's trend expert, on her favorite celebs and how to get the look.

When asked about whose style she admires to shape interior design trends, Dayna's answer was completely unsurprising, as his inimitable decor ideas also serve as a huge inspiration to the Homes & Gardens team.

Dayna explained: 'There are a few, but a couple that come to mind, Lenny Kravitz is number one, I think he is just one of one. I've seen the tours of his homes, and each one features some of the most unique items I've ever seen.' From Lenny Kravitz's dark-toned living room to his antique-filled bedroom in Paris, his spaces are full of inspiration.

So, what makes the icon's interior design style so inspiring?

According to Dayna, it comes down to personality. She states: 'I think what's so beautiful about great interior design is when you can tell that it's a reflection of that person, and I think his spaces absolutely do that.'

Furthermore, Dayna explains how Lenny's approach to room color ideas sets the design of his homes apart. It's a masterclass in integrating shades with subtlety.

She states: 'I'm also a color girl, so I love that even though his homes aren't drenched in color, you still see spots of it and it's just enough. You literally are telling your life story in your home, and I absolutely love that. For me, it's about color, and it's about storytelling

To recreate the rich power of decorating with vintage seen in Lenny Kravitz's home, it comes down to leaning into your own style and putting your personal spin on the look.

Dayna advises: 'It can be intimidating if you're trying to replicate and not tell your own story. I think it's the difference between being inspire and being able to put your own spin on it versus, "Oh, I saw those rice pilaf dish things in John Batiste's home and I need to have that exact same one and I need to put it in my kitchen." No, no, no, no, no, be inspired by the colors, be inspired by the shapes, be inspired by the aesthetic, and then translate that into what it means to your personal style.'

Decorating a home to tell your story is a lifelong adventure. The more you can make it your own, the more you will emerge with a look you are proud of.
