Celtic are set to sign Yosuke Ideguchi from J League side Gamba Osaka with a medical scheduled for later this month, according to reports in Japan.
A fee in the approximate region of £850,000 has been agreed between the Parkhead side and the Japanese club, according to Sponichi Annex.
They say he will undergo a medical in December and could arrive as Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou' s first winter signing.
There are still visa issues to sort for Ideguchi - but those should be eased by the 25-year-old's 15 caps for Japan and previous UK switch to Leeds United.
A midfielder, Ideguchi has experience in European football with Leeds, Cultural Leonesa and Greuther Furth.
Ideguchi has been a regular for Gamba Osaka and has racked up 182 appearances over two spells.
Celtic are linked with plenty of J-League stars after the impact of Kyogo Furuhashi in the first half of the Premiership season.
Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda, of Kawasaki Frontale and Yokohama F Marinos are two of the targets mooted for January transfers.
