Yonatan Cohen 'targeted by Celtic' as Israeli forward impresses Hoops scouts

Maccabi Tel Aviv forward Yonatan Cohen is reportedly a target for Celtic , after impressing watching Hoops scouts.

Manager Neil Lennon is keen to boost his attacking options this month, as he looks to take some of the strain off Odsonne Edouard.

According to the Sun head of recruitment Nick Hammond sent scouts to watch Cohen in Monday's 4-3 win over Maccabi Haifa.

The forward scored twice in the match, including an injury time winner to send his side six points clear at the top of the table.

Cohen primarily operates as a second striker but is also capable of playing out wide.

He is a full Israel international, playing alongside the likes of Nir Bitton and Hatem Abd Elhamed.

The Hoops have a history of signing from the Israeli top flight and are also targeting Ismaila Soro of Bnei Yehuda.

Owner Barak Abramov admitted: "It’s no secret Celtic are very interested in Ismaila.

“But at the same time I would stress we have yet to receive a formal offer from Celtic."
