Yomiuri Land Co. announced Saturday that it will reopen its Yomiuriland amusement park on Wednesday. The number of people allowed inside the park will be limited to 5,000, and the park will take thorough measures to prevent infections, such as conducting temperature checks and calling for guests to wear masks.

Yomiuriland, which straddles the cities of Inagi, western Tokyo, and Kawasaki, has been closed since April 25. HANA-BIYORI, a botanical garden enhanced with digital attractions, will be closed until the end of May.

Meanwhile, Sanrio Entertainment Co. announced Saturday that Sanrio Puroland, an indoor park in Tama, Tokyo, will reopen on Friday with its capacity reduced to 50%.

Following the government's extension of the state of emergency, the Tokyo metropolitan government has decided to allow amusement parks and theme parks to open as long as they accommodate no more than 5,000 people or operate at less than 50% of their capacity.
