
An illuminated display on Thursday began to shine on the grounds of the Yomiuriland amusement park, which straddles Inagi in western Tokyo, and Kawasaki. The "Jewellumination" display was organized by world-renowned lighting designer Motoko Ishii and uses about 6.5 million light-emitting diode (LED) bulbs to make many of the park's amenities, such as the Ferris wheel, appear as if they were covered with jewels. The event is scheduled to run through April 4.
