Yodchai: Wants to raise brand outlook
Yodchai Sudhidhanakul set his sights on doubling passengers to over 2 million next year from this year's expected 1.1 million while expanding the network and fleet.
Embracing independent travellers along with staple group tours and boosting brand awareness are goals for the new boss.
Mr Yodchai, who succeeded Piya Yodmani, outlined the growth strategy to the Bangkok Post before taking the helm at NokScoot today after an Oct 24 board approval.
Just before his appointment he was chief commercial officer at Nok Air, a partner in NokScoot along with Singapore's Scoot, where he has been since its inception in 2004.
Mr Yodchai said the International Civil Aviation Organization's recent lifting of the red flag against Thailand allows NokScoot to set its future expansion in motion.
That expansion started with the fourth Boeing B777-200 joining the fleet in late October.
Xian will be the first new destination, launched in the middle of this month, followed by other destinations in India, Japan and South Korea.
"The airline has a unique proposition and a highly motivated team," the 55-year-old said.
