Yobs smash up police car stopping it from attending emergency

Sick yobs prevented a police car from attending an emergency call-out after smashing its windscreen.

The car was attacked while it was parked up outside a Wirral police station in the early hours of this morning.

A post from Merseyside Police Contact Centre on its Facebook page said the vehicle was parked at Upton police station while officers completed paperwork.

It added: "Dispatched to an emergency 999 call only to come out and find the windscreen had been smashed preventing officers from attending the emergency and taking a car off the road for the rest of the shift."

The latest incident comes only a week after a brick was hurled through the window of a police car in Wirral.

Two people on a grey motorbike pulled alongside a patrol car before launching the object at the vehicle, which was parked in Fender Way, Beechwood.

The attack smashed through a window, leaving glass shattered inside. No officers were inside the car at the time.
