Yobs seen launching dog poo at cars on busy Scots motorway branded 'vile' and 'reckless'

Motorists in the Falkirk area have hit out at yobs seen launching dog poo at passing cars - with one branding them "Scotland's biggest d***heads".

A number of vehicles are believed to have been hit from the Hamilton Road flyover on the M876 at Larbert over the weekend.

Nobody was injured and no accidents have happened as a result of the disgusting incidents.

But locals have urged those responsible to stop before there's a bad smash.

One man, who does not want to be named, said: "I was driving back to Glasgow on Sunday afternoon after being at Vibration Festival in Falkirk for the weekend and next minute something smacked my windscreen.

"It was covered in brown stuff.

"I pulled over and as soon as I got out, I could smell it was dog poo.

"I thought a dog owner might have inconsiderately thrown it off the fly-over, but when I looked back and up, three lads were standing there laughing.

"I could see one of them getting ready to pelt another car. I tried to call police but the 101 number was so busy and I was on hold for about 10 minutes, so hung up.

"It's clearly a very dangerous game to play and it's only a matter of time before someone is badly injured, or even killed."

One angry driver took to Facebook, saying: "To the culprit(s) that decided to take all the bags of dog poo from the bin and throw them onto the cars on the motorway!

"You are officially Scotland's biggest d***head!"

Another said: "This could cause a seriously nasty accident, not just by vehicles swerving.

"It's also a serious skid risk as well. If someone was to slam their breaks on on one of the bags their car would go flying."

A third posted: "That's vile."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of items thrown onto the from a flyover on M876 near Larbert shortly after 7.35pm on Saturday, 4 September.

"Officers attended and the group involved had dispersed.

"Such behaviour is irresponsible and we would encourage anyone involved to consider the possible consequences of their actions.

"Anyone with information about the incident can call 101, quoting incident 3201 of 4 September."
