A yob called a police officer an "ugly b*****d" - and threatened to chomp off his nose.

Stephen McGonigle had been held at Glasgow's Kelvingrove Park on March 14 2020.

The 28 year-old had appeared to be under the influence.

Prosecutor Carrie Stevens said: “He was shouting and swearing at police saying 'f*** off'.

“He then said to an officer that he was an 'ugly b*****d' and he would bite his nose off before calling him a 'c***'."

McGonigle was then found with a two-inch pocket knife and a small amount of heroin.

He pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to possessing the two items as well as behaving in a threatening manner.

Sheriff Tom Hughes jailed him for 20 months. The sentence will begin after he serves 132 days from a previous term.
