Yob standing on motorway bridge hurls brick through passing lorry driver's windscreen

A yob launched a brick through the window of a lorry driver as he travelled along the M60.

The offender was standing on a bridge near junction 18 for Simister Island when they hurled the object at passing traffic.

It smashed straight through the window of the lorry driver below as he drove down the clockwise carriageway.

The driver escaped uninjured, North West Motorway Police said.

The force put up a Facebook post about the incident at around 6pm on Saturday.

They said: "Lorry driver on the hard shoulder due to a brick that has been thrown from an over bridge and smashed the windscreen.

"Highways on scene dealing."

A member of the public asked whether the driver was OK, and they replied: "They are OK. Not a nice experience though."

Another social media user added: "I had a brick thrown through my truck windscreen at the beginning of the month at the M62 - A1M interchange, few hundred pounds worth of damage but luckily I wasn’t injured - hope this driver is OK."

While another wrote: "Idiots hope he's ok."
