Police are hunting a man who set fire to a Lanarkshire railway.
He was spotted approaching the far end of the platform at Thorntonhall train station before setting the track alight as well as a fence next to it.
The man caused serious damage to a private property, costing £200, and then boarded a train straight after to Giffnock.
The incident happened at around 7.45pm on Saturday, May 29. The culprit got on the East Kilbride to Glasgow Central service train at Thorntonhall at 8.04pm.
He is described as a white male, in his mid-twenties, of medium build and average height. He was seen wearing all black clothing with his hood up, carrying a black backpack with a white logo.
Officers from Brirish Transport Police (BTP) are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to help with their investigation.
